Lol love the headline! Very good convo about why energy prices are rising in the Mid-Atlantic and what we can do about it! @volts.wtf: "... people can freak out all they want, but it’s insoluble unless you speed up the interconnection queue. That is the eye of the needle here."

Today on Volts: PJM! Prices in the US's largest wholesale power market keep going up & up, as data centers clamor to get connected & the interconnection queue remains sluggish & congested. People, including governors, are getting pissed. I talk with an expert about possible reforms that could help.

With the Super Bowl fast approaching, United’s Vice President of Sales & Business Development Rahiem Swann draws parallels between the formula of a winning football team & an effective trade association strategy. Check out our blog:

This is a really good idea (especially because many non-profit newsrooms like us over at @highlandscurrent.bsky.social have matching grants through the end of the year thanks to NewsMatch.) Everybody come back here on Nov. 30th and recommend a news outlet that you think people should subscribe to!

This year, we’ve gotta do Subscription Sunday between Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday!!!

Because PJM uses an outdated interconnection process it take forever to get approval. Bottlenecked supply: Only 3 GW of new generation was added in 2022 and 5 GW in 2023 — nowhere near enough to meet new demand from data centers. If they copied Texas with connect and manage they could accelerate.

I really enjoyed this conversation with @jael.bsky.social about how the advanced energy industry can meet the moment, provide solutions to our energy challenges, and chart the path forward in states and regions, where @advancedenergyunited.org has a track record of success. 💡🔌

Yeah, the rollbacks are bad – as Harry & @sarahsteinberg.bsky.social explain – but they also ID opportunities for industry growth, and share where they're optimistic about the road ahead. 🎙️ Thank you @sarahbaldwin.bsky.social @energyinnovation.org for having @advancedenergyunited.org on the show!

Senate Republicans would like to light hundreds of millions of your taxpayer dollars on fire for no reason other than spite by forcing the Postal Service to mothball EV delivery vehicles and rip out already-installed charging infrastructure. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Trump and GOP’s tax bill would sell off USPS’s brand-new EVs

A little-noticed part of Trump’s tax and immigration package would see the U.S. undo billions of dollars in electric vehicle investments by the Postal Service.
