Today! The hardcover of BATMAN/GREEN ARROW/THE QUESTION: ARCADIA is available in shops. Written and drawn by me. Colors by Romulo Fajardo jr. and lettered by @simonbowland.bsky.social. This was a long time dream project for me and I’m so pleased it happened.

Hardman’s always great and black label is all killer and no filler but even with such an extremely high bar this book was exceptional.

If you didn’t pick up the individual issue you should absolutely grab this because it rocked. And it absolutely made me want an ongoing series of Green Arrow and The Question fucking up billionaires.

George Tuska's Buck Rogers strip. Newspaper strips are a special education for comic book artists because they couldn't rely on page layout, oversize panels, or extra panels to spark the art. The compositions within routine panels had to be especially good.

My inks over a John Buscema sketch of Captain America. John was deceptively simple. Fewer lines but all in the right place. His simplicity is why, I think, every inker left a large impression on his work-- but all of them hold up because his structure was so strong.

My inks over a Gene Colan drawing of Iron Man. Gene was often thought of as one of the most difficult pencilers to ink. It wasn't easy-- or , at least, it wasn't fast :)

Good grief, thanks to a video on Instagram, I've just discovered that the Criterion edition of Lone Wolf & Cub (that I've had on my shelf for about 9 years) has a secret compartment in the spine containing the blueprint for the weaponised babycart..!

One of the differences between cinema and comics is how an actor looking directly at the audience can take the audience out of the story. And a character in a comic looking at the reader can draw them more into the story.
