A while back, I whipped up a board game to entertain our kiddo, who LOVES garbage trucks. Drive the trucks! Get the trash! Can you tidy up the town before the end of the day?? I cleaned up the art and now YOUR four year old can play… GARBAGE DAY! 🎲 🚛 www.patreon.com/tonycliff/po...

TOMORROW: I'm dropping the PDF for the souped-up version of the board game I made for me and my four-year-old to play! My offer to librarians: Need a "Take-and-Make?" I'll send you the PDF! Print off some copies! It doubles as colouring sheets! www.patreon.com/c/tonycliff
This is a handy guide! Thanks @librarian.bsky.social !!
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
After the Berlin Wall fell, did we ever find out what the Soviets had wanted with Moose and Squirrel?
A t-shirt which, on the front, says "I love to use A.I. to do my job!" and on the back, which no one can see when you're seated in an office chair or in a meeting, "no, just kidding, I do everything by hand because it's faster, better, and more accurate."
Welcome to the resistance: meet the workers dodging (and sabotaging) their employer's AI mandates: aftermath.site/ai-resistance-...
have we even considered how messed up we look tubing down a lazy river from a fish’s perspective??
Yesterday I tried Google’s natural language AI search thingy, the first time I’ve thought “‘AI’ should be good at this, let’s see.” It *insisted* on the wrong answer for fifteen minutes before I gave up and used “old-fashioned” reverse image search, which worked immediately.
Is there any consensus on how to write out “the ushe,” short for “the usual?” “The uzhe?” Something else? And do opinions correlate with whether you use “whoa” or “woah?”

Exactly twenty years after I drew the very first sketches of a character called "Delilah Dirk," PRACTICAL DEFENCE AGAINST PIRACY — the newest book in the series — has won a Will Eisner Award, in the Best Digital Comic category. It's a dream come true. 🏆 www.tonycliff.ca/blog/practic...

Just unearthed a gif I made of @tangocharlie.bsky.social high fiving a ship’s figurehead at the Vancouver Maritime Museum in 2013. What a jaunty lad.
Walked out to have a seat and check in on the Eisner Awards. It’s no ballroom, but it’s near a marina, so I’m part way there, right? Thanks for the updates & photos, @cbccpodcast.bsky.social !!
I got SDCC FOMO. Or maybe STBMO (Sad To Be Missing Out). Which is weird because at least twice, on my first evening there, I’ve thought, “THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR ME.” And yet by Sunday night I’ve got new friendships, a suitcase full of golden memories, and a book or two.
If you like this #illustration you can get it as a postcard by joining my #mailclub before the end of the month :) patreon.com/lafumettista
Celebrating Comic-Con by actually… reading… some comics? When it rains (comics) it pours (comics).

I was talking about this exact thing with a US ex-pat the other day, so: PSA: health care in Canada is practically free. It’s good, too, and I’m grateful for it. I couldn’t afford to do what I do if I had to pay a monthly $2k insurance bill.
About 24% of U.S. employees stay in unwanted jobs just for health insurance, a report out Wednesday finds. Up significantly since 2021, the uptick in "job lock" is a concerning sign for the U.S. economy. n.pr/4gQIY5E
I do not care for this world in which no one will shut up about some movies (e.g. Odyssey) but I have to find out via an intercepted carrier pigeon about the finest films of the decade (e.g. Sentimental Value)
I REALLY like this. “No cover. No bestseller sticker, no celebrity book club, no BookTok trend. You read the opening of a real book, blind, and answer the only question that matters: would you keep reading?” uncovered.ink

Didn’t they already release an Avengers Doomsday? Wasn’t that the last one? With Purple Homer?

@heyscottcampbell.bsky.social if you make a SENTIMENTAL VALUE showdown would you please let me know? Unless I missed it already (I just looked and didn’t see it but I’m just one pair of eyes).
Semi-related, our kiddo’s “Kindergarten Graduation” “Diploma” is set in comic sans, and I was looking at it the other day, considering ~improving~ it, and I thought, “no. No, it NEEDS to be Comic Sans.” I was as alarmed at such a thought as you must be.
ever since I switched my document fonts to comic sans I’ve been writing a lot more, it’s embarrassing this trick worked!!!
