I've heard several recent @npr.org stories, incl this yesterday by Deepa Shivaram, that cite utility bill & enviro reasons for widespread, bipartisan AI data center opposition. I just watched video of 5 ICE agents abducting a guy from a courthouse in my area of Massachusetts. Periodic reminder that ICE hasn't gone anywhere. They are still here and still terrorizing immigrants.
I would love it if we had a major political party that is against defunding the public sector.

@lastpositivist.bsky.social · 5mo agoThe fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

Okay this isn’t really happening anymore so I can tell you how l had “internal ICE sources”: the 3000 very stir-crazy ICE agents were all going wild on Minneapolis Tinder. Local girls would match with them and string them along for intel. They loved to brag about what they were doing all day

The current 12-game Jeopardy champion works at an affordable housing finance agency in NJ, and shamed New York for not building more housing: "NJ's doing really well, we're ahead of NY, CT, PA. If you're from one of those states, shame on you, build more housing."
