a real life superhero whose power was connecting to and caring about humanity. in one life she wrote several timeless songs, donated +300-million books to children, proudly supported lgbtq people, Black lives and trans rights, and quite literally helped save the world by funding a covid vaccine.

Dolly was the blueprint for how to use your platform, wealth, and status for good. She truly was the best of us. I am in shambles. May we all try to emulate a little more Dolly in all we do.

Sometimes, when someone dies, what helps me is thinking about how wonderful it is that they were even alive in the first place. Dolly was the closest you could get to an American saint. We all loved her.
She was a better person than a songwriter, and she's one of the best songwriters in modern music. May we do half the good she did. That is our charge now.
