Count Binface for Clacton

I reckon there are people alive today who will see/be part of the human extinction event. Probably just the beginning of it. And possibly they won't know that it is the beginning of it.

Cost of living worries are causing such a chronically exhausting psychological burden- consuming mental bandwidth, putting relationships under strain, & making it so hard to properly rest. Living in survival mode means a baseline of constant anxiety, making everything else much harder to cope with.

We should never forget how the BBC has changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage and other rightwing extremists, while shutting out progressive voices.

And why is #r4today giving (yet again) such prominence to a hair-brained scheme that has little chance to ever be implemented? A GE is unlikely soon and the threat of Reform winning it is apparently receding. What is the justification for legitimising it?

The IMF says we pay $5T/year to subsidize fossil fuels — that's $13M per MINUTE to destroy our future. Meanwhile solar & wind fight for scraps. We don't have a funding problem. We have a priority problem.

As Europe braces itself for another heatwave Andy Burnham looks set to approve new oil and gas. Kemi Badenoch is purging the Tories of net zero supporters, while Reform councils are abandoning climate goals up and down the country. The UK urgently needs bold and ambitious climate leadership

The 6 largest oil companies will collectively rake in $45B in profits in the second quarter of 2026 — nearly double what they made in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Canada, France, and Spain are battling record-breaking wildfires spurred by the climate crisis. Big Oil profits while the world burns.

"Starting July 19, 2026, the European Union officially banned large fashion companies from destroying unsold clothes, shoes, and accessories. Instead of sending perfectly good products to landfills or burning them, companies must now donate, recycle, or repurpose them." via No one Cares

This is Beily. He was miraculously found alive under rubble 29 days after the Venezuela earthquakes. He has since been reunited with his 11-year-old human Victoria and is expected to make a full recovery. 14/10 for all (TT: fuerzavzla1)

Renationalisation should be considered a centrist position, given it's wanted by a majority of the public, rather than a leftist position. Any political party against renationalisation is right of the majority: Labour, Reform UK, Tories, Restore are all right-wing parties.

What a choice of words, "steal" the mayoralty. This is the insidious way the right-wing establishment use their media & influence to try to frame issues & control the narrative. They want to imply that the Greens should not ever be in a position of political power. #Recognise #Resist#VoteGreen

This seat doesn't belong to Labour for us to "steal". It belongs to Greater Manchester. This Thursday we have a chance to run this wonderful city-region for people, not profit, by voting Green as your first preference vote. www.newstatesman.com/politics/gre...
