Lifelong fan of both Magic and Star Trek and I dunno what to say but this just feels viscerally wrong to me

I will say I'm already impressed by how #Linux is handling my screen scaling needs. I make ONE screen zoomed in... and it actually resizes them in relation to each other? so that it matches physical reality? and fonts stay crisp? 😍
So first thing I do is click “Other” because I’m curious and the whole thing hard locks So that’s going well
Phase two let’s gooooo
(Hitting Restart for the third time) ok THIS TIME I’m totally gonna get into the BIOS
ever just accidentally have 50 firefox tabs randomly close out of nowhere? scattered across multiple windows(!) and tab groups I just turned on firefox syncing and I think it's trying to gaslight me
Galaxy uses "Recruit" as essentially our version of Magic's "on enter", so this card really just says "Recruit -- Recruit."
i like the internet when i get to see the cool things people are creating, or learn new techniques or approaches. i dislike the internet when i stumble into high-velocity low-stakes arguments
I made a bee game in 36 hours for DTJ36! 🐝 It's called... Bees Wax! (lol) 🧱 Place pieces of honeycomb 🐝 Get bees! 🌷 Place exits for the bees to get pollen 🍯 Honey!! Check it out here: lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=158322 Or find it directly in Pico-8 by running "load #beeswax"!
tbh I often do this on steam too, even without the "threat of ads". I got tired of watching cutscenes / cinema / interviews / DLC announcements / whatever and I'm just scanning for previews of actual gameplay.
By way of an example, here's how I 'watch' the two game trailers currently presented at me on youTube. This is it, this is all you get these days. This is the barrier to entry. If what I see tickles my fancy, I'll click and sit through an advert for the full thing. Otherwise, this is it.
i love procedural generation. i'm taking the existing structures in this NPC prototype and writing some test functionality to expose data better and make testing quicker and lighter on its feet. above: the new text mode world map render. below: a function which finds all the habitations.
I’m more and more in the camp that we just cannot handle video clips as a species.
yoooo what this is so cool github might actually do something i like
i rarely post about this and will probably delete this but man why is literally everything just a fuckin' drag right now
My brain has trouble accepting that i accomplished anything st all this weekend Even as i review over 5k words i wrote in 2 days Rookie numbers
New legends with no lore? Sometimes naming a card can be as simple as asking, "Do I think they'll print a name that has FOUR Us in it???" bsky.app/profile/levd...
Oh....OH!
I'm starting to see the appeal of writing GameLit/LitRPG- I'm basically just designing a game that I don't actually have to code. I just write about all the cool parts of the game!
I needed to describe a key, and couldn't come up with a better word than "handle" for the top bit. Turns out that part is called the "bow" or "head".
Most people don't understand this but the biggest difference between "Balatro" and "random indie game you've never heard of" is literally just a roll of the algorithmic dice There are lots of things you can do to move the needle but at the end of the day, you're still very much at the whims of fate
i have an oomf that worked at a small studio making a fun game that also used poker in creative ways for gameplay and storytelling and was in the same next fest as balatro, and i think friends in our discord were the only ones who bought it and the studio closed immediately
"I built lots of inane, rambling prompts, like having the AI write (bad) book reports. I did all the real work myself, but my usage showed up on the dashboards and made me an 'AI Champion'" I truly wonder how much of reported AI adoption/success is just people *pretending* to use AI.

This game is wonderful. If you have any softness in your heart for arcade-style games, I *highly* recommend picking it up. It's the kind of game that's quick to learn the basics but has so much depth to explore as you try to get good at it.
By the way, the Nintendo Switch version of #RaindropSprinters is now on Summer Sale! ☀️ 30–50% off, depending on your region. This little game has quietly been finding new players, and it may even reach 2,000 copies sold this year. Give it a try! games.909works.net/products/rai...
"…instead of leveling up my {character}, it was time to level up my career."
LitRPG but instead of stat blocks you get 360 performance reviews
"why don't you just make less! No one is making you do this!" welcome to workaholics anonymous - me, before my body/mind finally gave up and stopped cooperating with my drive/desire it's still a high I chase- being able to make EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME
you can just read it, tbh. it’s not nearly that big a deal IMO (yes, this leads many people to overwork and they should touch grass!) except his audience are going psycho. www.reddit.com/r/nerdfighte...
