You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.
Rebecca Heineman's source code disks for Apple II, Apple IIGS, and C64 versions of "Tass Times in Tonetown" were recently imaged at KansasFest 2026 and are now archived. Burger Becky was an incredible and beloved engineer and raconteur who we sadly lost last year. archive.org/details/tass...
Question for anyone who plays Big Walk now that it's out: how is it played with people in the same room? I was thinking of playing with my wife, but the description of all the positional audio features makes it sound like it could be an awkward experience played with someone nearby.

The influential 1994 early horror visual novel/adventure SNES game 'Kamaitachi no Yoru' (Banshee's Last Cry) is now fully translated into English! It's about a murder mystery set in a ski lodge with multiple routes.

Every time I fall back to Google for something I regret it these days. Even using quotes to ensure an exact phrase shows up in my results gets me something Google thinks is "helpful" instead of the thing I'm actually looking for.
I was considering slapping a second 128GB SD card in my iPod while I have it open anyway, but… looks like the same card I night two years ago is almost double the price. So maybe I should wait…
Hello I have made this due to a mutual having issues with some folks on here forgetting this fact and shouting at him for it. Feel free to use it as a handy PSA x
Truly absurd situation where the only copy I can locate for sale of a local west coast Canadian album I want is in… Germany, and won't ship to Canada.
While debugging the Magic School Lunar translation, I ended up spending some time reverse engineering the save game format so I can speed my way through all the battles. Turns out it was a lot simpler than I thought! Wrote up the process: www.mistys-internet.website/blog/blog/20...

I keep seeing* posts about The Lost Island of Alanna, but not its packaging, which frankly deserves to be seen. Most notable is the fact that it comes with two copies—”one for you, one for a friend.” The package is even perforated so you can tear the two sides apart.
This game is wonderful. If you have any softness in your heart for arcade-style games, I *highly* recommend picking it up. It's the kind of game that's quick to learn the basics but has so much depth to explore as you try to get good at it.
By the way, the Nintendo Switch version of #RaindropSprinters is now on Summer Sale! ☀️ 30–50% off, depending on your region. This little game has quietly been finding new players, and it may even reach 2,000 copies sold this year. Give it a try! games.909works.net/products/rai...

Feels like it's easy to miss the context here but this is 1988. 1024x768 is *pretty impressive* for 1988 even with only 16 colours. Most people I know didn't have 800x600 until the mid 90s at best.
