The US needs to be making its own medicines, especially for the new generation of personalized medicines (genomic, cell therapies, etc). We believe AI/automation is how that will happen. 🇺🇸💊 @wsj.com www.wsj.com/articles/u-s...

Got a cool book on Die Brücke artist Kirchner. He was a leader of German Expressionism in the first two decades of the 20th century with a somewhat haunting style of rendering the figure.
His arrest and attempted deportation seem very much like a writ of attainder to me. The President can pardon federal crimes, but not convict them.

For those with a medical background, I think learning startup related finance is no harder, and with a lot of overlap, to learning how to manage ins and outs and electrolytes.
SRE’s may have more in common with emergency room physicians in things like personality and hobbies than I would have at first considered.

One thing I never understand is all the criticism of the USFDA and their regulatory science. It’s the most data driven government organization in the world, willing to quickly change its mind with new data. It’s not perfect of course, but it’s regulation by rationality not emotion, very rare.
Investment in basic research has been one of the main pillars of economic growth in the US. Discovery combined with the free market system that can turn those innovations into scalable/distributable new products & services improves quality of life, and wealth in a non zero-sum way.
