I think that "design" as a discipline, rather than eg product-, interior-, clothes- etc, is just the most tiresome discipline. It's just this kind of clickbait form-making with no interest in context or purpose. I blame Dezeen, Wallpaper* and social media.
Wanted to buy one of these but they didn’t have my size. They only come in a Little L.
Primark is a deeply weird place.

Farewell today to the high priestess of polka dots, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama (1929-2026). Her work was unforgettable and for her, a means to survival. It’s playful, psychedelic, compulsive, beautiful and slightly unsettling all at once. Into infinity and beyond Yayoi! 🔴🟡⚫️
Think this is it: www.gov.uk/alerts/past-... - dunno if it’s manual or backed by something though cc @rachelcoldicutt.bsky.social
There should also be a web based archive of all the messages, so you could verify if a message was legit. Maybe you even access that through an app if you wished.
As in, every alert should include a canonical gov URL that is then the single source of truth for official messages, which informs every other source. If you are, say, using ChatGPT to get your news, then you absolutely do not stand a chance if there's not an accurate Web page (even then it's dicey)
I don’t know about you, but I like to ad-lib my own vocals to Moments In Love by Art of Noise. There’s a rap verse in there too.
Bloody hell I thought that was my fire alarm. I’m not sure that sort of information should be shared on a communications method that is about urgent emergency action Surely that’s more of a government briefing on the telly?
I always suspected a UK government would eventually reverse course on "coding in public". So I've been backing up all government code. For six years. Today I finally generated a report on what has been deleted. Its much worse than I realised. github.com/uk-gov-mirro...

‘It makes you feel you’ve got a really dirty house’: what’s behind the UK’s plagues of flies?
From Leicestershire to Carmarthenshire, neighbourhoods are struggling with wave after wave of houseflies. Why are they suffering while others are spared? And is there no alternative to nets and zapper...

Anyone noticed an influx of green bottle flies in London this summer? Can’t eat outside without a swarm descending. Leave the windows open and the room fills up. Might need to get @londoncentric.media on the case.

I’ve found something I see as a safety concern with Google Gemini / AI search. Last night I was able to find the personal instagram accounts of people through searching a car reg on Google. In some cases it was reading the reg plate from a reel. It often brought back the owners name too.

It’s a shame France got knocked out of the World Cup because I came up with a great headline if England played them… Égalité, Fraternité, Cup of Tea
Government should set up its own official fediverse server, the posts could then be syndicated to other platforms. It’s not about social media, it’s about making official announcements.
In addition, unless your business is “links” (which Bluesky is great for), Bluesky isn’t worth the candle, and the devolved moderation system just is never going to work for most people, sadly.
Here’s an idea…speed up the process, and allow asylum seekers to work, then maybe it wouldn’t be so fucking costly. Slapping someone with a £10k debt when they’re trying to rebuild their life after holding them for months is just shitty and cruel. apple.news/A0NfEPMiiR6O...
