Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

I'm absolutely furious that facts and information like this are allowed on social media while every Reform MP is working so hard to spread misinformation and lies and stir up our gullible supporters who will believe any old bollocks.

Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.

"If the only time they “encounter” a minority group is through an alarmist Facebook post or a sensationalised headline about crime or immigration, that caricature becomes their reality. Without real-world interactions to prove otherwise, the media version wins."

Why does hostility often run highest in places with very little ethnic diversity? John Heywood argues the answer lies in economic decline, media narratives and political neglect. 👇 @yorkshirebylines.co.uk @handhyorkshire.bsky.social

It is exactly two years today since loveable racist Lucy Connolly posted a Tweet encouraging people to burn down hotels housing asylum seekers. Making her exactly the sort of person I'm proud to be associated with.

A reminder that, in June, Reform reinstated Sunderland councillor Glenn Gibbins, a man who suggested Nigerians should be melted down and used to fill potholes. Nigel Farage did not report this to the police, did not demand he face legal consequences, and still welcomes him in his party.

The stranglehold the rightwing and far right have on our politics is absurd. Not a single policy or idea that benefits the country. A wild aversion to tax, immigration, NetZero, the EU.. trapping us in a dismal dead-end, unable to make progress for fear of the DailyMail demographic losing its shit.

Wow - oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. First rate investigative reporting - essential reading if you’re following this story. “…the timing of the restructure, so soon after the police got involved, looks like a desperate attempt to cover Reform UK’s tracks.”

It's becoming an established attack line that Burnham "has no mandate" and "hasn't set out what he'll do". He's not becoming president. He leads the same party that governed yesterday, elected on the same manifesto. His authority comes from Parliament & he'll have to pass his measures through it.

I meet people every week when out vox popping who are completely convinced that small boat crossings are rising exponentially. They aren’t - they are falling substantially. Journalists and politicians have a duty to get this message across. Some are mendacious, others just incompetent.

Small boats to UK now down 45% year on year to mid-July. The BBC continues to (mistakenly) tend to hypothesise a weather effect. It is neither weather nor UK govt policy. It is a change in EU-wide flows.

In May we said Nigel Farage probably didn't owe tax on his £5m gift. The Guardian now reports the gift followed talks where Farage said he'd need £5m to return to frontline politics. *If* that's right, we think there's a high risk of a £3m tax bill - payable by Reform.
