Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

In January, I stopped using X as a communication channel because the platform facilitated the creation of illegal and deeply harmful images by its AI tool, Grok. I am renewing my call for all governmental and parliamentary communications to stop using X. The platform continues to facilitate
I'm absolutely furious that facts and information like this are allowed on social media while every Reform MP is working so hard to spread misinformation and lies and stir up our gullible supporters who will believe any old bollocks.
Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.

Why does hostility often run highest in places with very little ethnic diversity? John Heywood argues the answer lies in economic decline, media narratives and political neglect. 👇 @yorkshirebylines.co.uk @handhyorkshire.bsky.social

‘The heat took him from me’: India’s death toll rises amid escalating heat crisis
As extreme heat claims the lives of workers in India’s poorest areas, many fear the true mortality rate is being dangerously undercounted

It is exactly two years today since loveable racist Lucy Connolly posted a Tweet encouraging people to burn down hotels housing asylum seekers. Making her exactly the sort of person I'm proud to be associated with.
And guess what Fartage refused to apologise in parliament -despite evening challenges to by Starmer - and did fuck all
A reminder that, in June, Reform reinstated Sunderland councillor Glenn Gibbins, a man who suggested Nigerians should be melted down and used to fill potholes. Nigel Farage did not report this to the police, did not demand he face legal consequences, and still welcomes him in his party.

The stranglehold the rightwing and far right have on our politics is absurd. Not a single policy or idea that benefits the country. A wild aversion to tax, immigration, NetZero, the EU.. trapping us in a dismal dead-end, unable to make progress for fear of the DailyMail demographic losing its shit.

Here’s a puzzle. Why do people still think immigration is "out of control" when the numbers tell a different story? Economist Jonathan Portes explores the gap between statistics, trust and public attitudes. @eastangliabylines.co.uk
Reducing net migration was never the real issue
Our immigration statistics have served to legitimise racism. Reduced net migration was not what people wanted

It's becoming an established attack line that Burnham "has no mandate" and "hasn't set out what he'll do". He's not becoming president. He leads the same party that governed yesterday, elected on the same manifesto. His authority comes from Parliament & he'll have to pass his measures through it.
If Clacton residents judge Farage on how well he’s represented them as an MP, which is abysmal, he will surely be kicked out. #VoteCountBinface #BinFarage
Is it too much to expect the national public broadcaster to be capable of reporting on one of the consistently most salient political issues in an informed way?
Small boats to UK now down 45% year on year to mid-July. The BBC continues to (mistakenly) tend to hypothesise a weather effect. It is neither weather nor UK govt policy. It is a change in EU-wide flows.
I meet people every week when out vox popping who are completely convinced that small boat crossings are rising exponentially. They aren’t - they are falling substantially. Journalists and politicians have a duty to get this message across. Some are mendacious, others just incompetent.

In May we said Nigel Farage probably didn't owe tax on his £5m gift. The Guardian now reports the gift followed talks where Farage said he'd need £5m to return to frontline politics. *If* that's right, we think there's a high risk of a £3m tax bill - payable by Reform.
