I can't believe more people aren't talking about this #book! I love stories about trickster characters with a heart of gold, and this children's book doesn't shy away from depicting the harsh realities of being a child in medieval times. The colorful Silk Road cast was also so fun! #BookSky #bookrec

This book. Wow. I can only say it's not magical realism, it's... magric TRICK realism. You fall into it as though it is a fantasy but, everything that happens is mundane and you're still left satisfied. Rather like Samir himself. SO meta! Very much worth a read....or two #goodbooks

I was hooked on this all the way to Seattle! We don't often get stories about kids in wartime that aren't depressing, or stories about how arbitrary political boundaries really are and the people who get caught in between. Add some language communication difficulties and I'm yours! #bookrec #books

Ethical art is art that treats everyone involved in the process (from materials to production to creative labor) fairly and with respect—not art that adheres to a specific set of content guidelines. Don't confuse genre trappings or marketing buzzwords with the real obligations we have to each other.

I read 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 while recovering from surgery! Before it, I'd never seen such a relatable & detailed account of #genderfluidity that didn't pander to cisnormative ideas about bigenderism. The encounters with Southern culture & nature were fun too. If you need a new #Pride #book, here. #bookrec
