It was suggested to me today that immigration tribunal float lists are designed to manipulate "time to 1st listing" stats. Any info? Had never occured to me this farago could be purposive. Demand your float list cases are recorded "never assigned to judge/court for effective hearing" when adjourned

No doubt HM govt wil suprise me, but I struggle to see how it will come up with something as inimical to justice & the rule of law, & as contemptuous of parties & their lawyers, as the 1st tier tribunal (Immigration & Asylum chamber) float lists. Or run it as incompetently. Refuse to participate.

This should be the news coming out of Belfast today. The Finucane family have fought for years to get to this point & the inquiry opens with a UK Govt apology that will get lost in today's news. Pay attention to this - the past hasn't passed here, as days of unrest show: www.rte.ie/news/ireland...

'Monumental day' as Finucane murder public inquiry begins

The widow of murdered Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane has hailed the first day of a long-campaigned for public inquiry into his death as "monumental".

1st-tier immigration & asylum tribunal. 1 hearing centre. 15 cases on float list today. Almost none heard. Not adjourned til 2.30-3pm. Asylum seekers. Torture survivors. Privately paying clients & legally aided lawyers who get only £177 (prep + hearing) if case adjourns. Refuse to participate.
