Learning to set & hold boundaries isn't something you should expect to be good at or comfortable with all at once. The fact that it's stressful & awkward doesn't mean anything negative about you. It means your skillset is a work in progress-- just like mine & everyone else's.

Your autonomy & dignity is more important than another adult's comfort zone. (Notice how Trauma Brain just told you that may be true for others, but it's not true for you? That's what trauma conditioning does: list reasons why you're The Exception. And never in positive ways.)

Brandon Flowers’ singles from his upcoming album are sounding like Johnny Cash which is not something i can even pretend to be into, but i’m sure it will appeal to a lot of people no Brandon Flowers (solo) song will top Crossfire in my book

So u guys I need your help. I’m doing a workshop for GLMA on how religious trauma shows up in the exam room. The clearest example for me is shame about being tested or going on prep or talking about bodily functions. And that affects actual healthcare *and* public health…

Trying to imagine what either party would do differently if they were actively trying to lose the midterms...really can't think of anything. Great work everyone. #MakeAmericaNormalAgain

the public discourse around this has been so shitty even people who might be battling an illness (whether physical, mental or both) deserve to take up space and live life this demand that she be hidden away in shame is so fucked up

Ariana Grande has dropped out of ‘Sunday in the Park with George.’ (via PEOPLE) They also report that Grande plans to “take a step back from public visibility” after the end of her tour following “intensified public scrutiny.” (people.com/ariana-grand...)

This actually hits on a broader point that drives me crazy—people seem to think that 100% of their tax money should be going to things that directly benefit them. Sorry, but that's just not how it works. Part of the social contract is that we all pitch in for things that are good for society.

Not on board with this one. Sorry, not sorry, but dog poop on school fields is a nightmare. And the "I pay taxes, but I don't have kids so why am I paying for schools if I don't get to use them" argument falls flat. We all benefit from living in a society where children are educated.

do you think the reason i never dreamed of my wedding day as a child was because i was raised going to lame LDS wedding receptions? never could even imagine the ceremony part because kids are stuck outside the temple waiting
