Coal miners in central Appalachia are suffering from the highest rates of black lung in 50 years. This comes after Trump cancelled regulations limiting toxic silica dust in mines, which would have prevented at least 1,067 deaths and 3,746 black lung cases.
Apparently there are at least three probable cases of a rare bacterial illness known as tularemia, or "rabbit fever,” in New York; and while I suppose it’s always worthwhile to learn something new, at this point I’m getting tired of learning about new illnesses.
We had something like 50 people felting together today, which was pretty lovely!

I can remember in 2008 the sense of how the arrival of a better America would accompany this man's election. I still believe his message of hope is the right one. It is a strategy. Happy birthday, Mr President!

I hear people say this is a rural, conservative district. Pacific County voted for the democratic presidential candidate from Eisenhower to Trump. It’s about as blue as one can get by that measure. Dems can win in these places too.
