Pleeeeeeeeeease for the love of god immediately leave whatever page asks this. It dumps malicious commands into your clipboard behind the scenes, and thinly disguises the instructions to paste and run said commands via your computer's terminal/command prompt. No official reCAPTCHA does this, ever.

The story endures because we can see Scrooge's faults and reflect on mistakes we've made ourselves, and know that we can learn from them and grow into better people for it. Regardless, no one will make a better adaptation than the Muppet version, so just watch that instead.
"Maybe Scrooge was right-" he was not. He was a miserly asshole facing the same demise as his former business partners if he didn't make some serious changes with how he treats the people around him. That's the point.
This is what happens when a director conflates a parable with real-world nuance. No, we don't need to "both sides" this tale because Dickens wrote the story as it was meant to be understood. Scrooge made mistakes and needed a wakeup call. That's it.

1. The Main Switch This is the main setting Google shows you, but it's not the only one. Gmail (Desktop): ⚙️ Settings → See all settings → Smart features and personalization → Uncheck "Turn on smart features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet" → Save Changes.
2. The Hidden Switch Turning off the first setting isn't enough. Most people stop there. On the same settings page: Google Workspace smart features → Manage Workspace smart feature settings → Turn off both checkboxes → Save. Both settings need to be turned off.
