Totally the same for me as well - it was the best learning tool in my life, both academically and artistically, and the stuff I was exposed to has always been an inspiration

This for me as well. It’s an odd feeling because bad things certainly happened to me because of it. But so did good things. The unsupervised and unrestricted freedom of expression is directly responsible for both my career and my marriage.

i would not have as much curiosity and intellectual drive as i do now if i had been restricted to Webzones For Kids

second this that i managed to overcome almost all attempts to restrict my internet usage both gave me the ability to escape severe child abuse and also to essentially pre-train myself for my career (i was a nerd)

I truly believe it saved my life. It showed me there were others like me and there was a way for me to reach them, and I did.

a bad tech take i have is that retro phones are kind of lame. hard to use for anything, and more of a novel assemblies of plastic than an actual computer. compared to basically any other retro tech (even old vr) they're not something i'd ever want. easy to see why the iphone obliterated everything
