And today Scheufele is posting like it’s just another day… about AI scholars contaminating academic publishing. I can think of some other things destroying the academy: fucking your students? being psychologically abusive to the ones you don’t want to sleep with? The hubris is wild.

UW-Madison professor engages in multiple sexual relationships with students, disparages another over their sexual orientation and appearance, creates hostile environment, and department leadership covers it all up. And in true “pass the trash” fashion, moves on to ASU once forced to resign.

I was an assistant professor in Dietram Scheufele and Dominique Brossard’s department. I didn’t see evidence of sexual relationships with students but I saw a whole lot of the hostile environment described in this article. The students deserved so much better than these fucking assholes.

I'm delighted to share insights from my #wildfire #communication dissertation #research with the Earth Science Information Partnership Federation Wildfire Cluster tomorrow - Oct 9th at 1pm PST / 4pm EST. This is open to the public, register here: www.esipfed.org/event/wildfi...

This study, co-authored by my UW–Madison colleague Dietram A. Scheufele, confirms what many of us know: Black women in STEM face deep, persistent bias. We must keep pushing for equity. I stand with Black women in science. Always. #Blacksky #STEM #SciComm #UWLSC www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Our new study (collab between @uw-lsc.bsky.social & @scicommlab.bsky.social) examined public perceptions of scientist' credibility in film and has depressing results - biases persist as Black female scientists are rated less warm and competent, compared to peers. Open access at #ScientificReports
