I saw a beautiful barn owl. He was staring at me, eyes pleading. Frozen. Completely motionless, wings splayed and on the ground. He'd been caught mid-flight. I couldn't shake that sight. 😭
I got to hear from the most amazing people, who gathered alongside delegates to raise voices and raise literacy! Maddy Barnes asked are we teaching reading the way we want to (and need to) or the way we have to (to the test). Jeffrey Boakye reminded us 'the world is not bespoke to our needs'...
I attended the @literacy-trust.bsky.social #PriCon25 yesterday, and this converted NY school bus was the most delightful place to hang out. Serving children in Bradford, this story bus delivers intrigue, mystery, adventure, thrills, comedy...a reading space that excites and delights! 💛
