Over the past year I’ve played tons of escape room board games with my kids, so I decided to make a video with some of the ones we’ve played and liked! youtu.be/rFUQvk8rPWw

I played 38 puzzle game demos from Steam Next Fest this week and here are a couple of my favorites! Note: I’m biased toward escape room type stuff and mystery detective stuff. First up is Stip, a game of minimalist number puzzles. But not just that… store.steampowered.com/app/3227960/...

I love that my kids love dressing up so much that they plan out their own Halloween costumes and ask for the things they need (props and costumes) for their bday in September. Makes October a lot less busy for me since I don’t need to worry as much about making their costumes then.

Kid: “Mommy, remember that video with the skeletons dancing and Pikotaro in the audience?” Me: “No, was it [some other video]?” Kid: “No, it was in my dream” Me: “How am I supposed to remember it if it’s in your dream?” Kid: “Cause you were in there!”

I got paid for some work for He Who Watches, but before that I had played the demo and really liked it! And if you’re worried about getting sick from first person games like me, there are a lot of settings that help with that, so I didn’t get sick with the demo at all!

He Who Watches by Danga Games is OUT NOW! 👁️🏹 To celebrate the release, we have a brand new trailer featuring solo developer Bobby Vanden explaining what the game is and why it's special. Watch below! Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1070500/... itch: draknek.itch.io/he-who-watches

HE WHO WATCHES IS OUT NOW! Please go check it out if you are at all interested in puzzle games. It is a banger (self certified) and something that I really put my heart into. Day one reviews go so freaking far, if you like the game please do leave a review! I even narrated a trailer for it 😬

My 6yo kids’ only exposure to Pokémon is Pokopia, where they all live in harmony and they know “Team R” were bad people who stole Pokémon. Today my husband was explaining the original Pokémon games to them, where you capture Pokémon and have them fight. My kid’s response: “so wait, are we Team R?”

I am excited to get my editing time back (especially when kids are home from school.. last episode I barely finished the podcast in time), but I’ll miss my scheduled podcasting time with Crystal!

As we announced during our 10th anniversary episode, Board Game Blitz (the podcast) is coming to an end. Our final episode will release on August 6. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to share stories or fond memories you have of us and the show. It means more than you know.

I printed out this free at home escape room a while ago for my kids and today we finally did it! I helped with the reading and with some of the puzzles but my kids were able to do a lot of it and they had fun! www.60out.com/puzzle-games...

My kids have been listening to phantom of the opera and I love how one of them will confidently belt out the wrong lyrics. “And though you turn from me, true love’s behind, the phaaaaaaantom of the opera is there…”

Today I posted my 2nd ever video review. Apparently I only feel comfortable making reviews for games where I can play through the whole campaign/scenarios and have finished it (the 1st was Tragedy Looper). But here’s my review for Cozy Stickerville! @unexpectedgames.bsky.social youtu.be/RHKQ9Wxov1U

I’m wearing the only fireworks I’m seeing today because sunset is way after my kids’ bedtime.

My kids made up a game called Guess the Game. We play in the board game room and take turns giving clues to describe one of our board game boxes (based on the image on the box). I wonder if this means we have too many board games.

@613mandi.bsky.social I had similar thoughts to you on switch 2 but I recently bought one! They have a bundle where you can get it and a game (Mario kart world, donkey Kong bonanza, or pokopia). I figured that bundle was worth it since I wanted to play pokopia anyway.
