I love that my kids love dressing up so much that they plan out their own Halloween costumes and ask for the things they need (props and costumes) for their bday in September. Makes October a lot less busy for me since I don’t need to worry as much about making their costumes then.

My 6yo kids’ only exposure to Pokémon is Pokopia, where they all live in harmony and they know “Team R” were bad people who stole Pokémon. Today my husband was explaining the original Pokémon games to them, where you capture Pokémon and have them fight. My kid’s response: “so wait, are we Team R?”

I am excited to get my editing time back (especially when kids are home from school.. last episode I barely finished the podcast in time), but I’ll miss my scheduled podcasting time with Crystal!

As we announced during our 10th anniversary episode, Board Game Blitz (the podcast) is coming to an end. Our final episode will release on August 6. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to share stories or fond memories you have of us and the show. It means more than you know.

I’m wearing the only fireworks I’m seeing today because sunset is way after my kids’ bedtime.

My kids made up a game called Guess the Game. We play in the board game room and take turns giving clues to describe one of our board game boxes (based on the image on the box). I wonder if this means we have too many board games.
