This undemocratic decision, they wrote, is because they're worried about membership dropping. Well do I have news for you.
Ftr, Sand Branch is an unincorporated community outside of Dallas originally formed by freed African Americans. Despite being populated has never had water utilities and long term pollution exposure has poisoned all of the water wells for generations

As an aside,"Born Fighting" is a such a perfect reference here, because it's a great example of how "whiteness" has been mythologized from pseudohistory. Hyperfocuses on decontextualized bits of narrative to support it's premise, and straight up ignores facts to romanticize the past

I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.
Did railroad companies also market their product by saying no one would ever need to know how to walk again? Did universities remodel their infrastructure around using trains as the primary mode of social functioning across all career paths? Do trains actively make people dumber when used routinely?
@ironeconomist.bsky.social · 6mo agoMy mental model of this is the railways boom. One of the defining technology booms but all the gains went to people using the railways and not the railway companies. AI has all the hall marks of being a commodity with low pricing power,

I am deeply frustrated and ashamed of my alma mater, Texas A&M. Ordering a professor to remove or alter course content violates core university principles. It is the behavior of a censorship-driven institution that undermines academic freedom, learning, and intellectual progress.
The FEDS drugged and shot Fred Hampton in bed. Philly cops blew up a building in the 1980s and most people don't even know the MOVE bombing happened. I think you're downplaying how normalized US death is.

During the first trump admin, I worked on a project examining immigration detention center audits. The FOIAd docs had a lot of redactions, but so randomly and haphazardly that it was barely an impediment. I was expecting a similar kind of incompetence with this

(Fortune, Oct. 21. 2025) Threats of an exodus by the wealthy are always greatly exaggerated.

One of the many bitter ironies in this is that they lumped prohibitions on teaching on race and gender into the same section as antidiscrimination policies. Half of the policy now bans the teaching of why the other half exists in the first place
