You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.

I’m, of course, as a non-resident Brit, not going to (indeed can’t) pay a TV licence, but being able to get the radio has always been a lifeline for native Brits living abroad.

The United States has obligations, both legal and moral, to assist Ukraine, and a non-governmental project to grade representatives and candidates based on their willingness to uphold those obligations is, quite frankly, the lightest possible touch.

This happens every week or so just in Kyiv. It's worse in other places. I sure as fuck am entitled to push the United States into helping Ukraine defend itself.

Here and in the US we have so many layers insulating corrupt actors. There it's like...that one person.
This would be the front page of every paper and subject of every current affairs radio show if a left wing party had done it. As it stands I doubt we'll even see the gushing about Badenoch's political judgement slow down.
