WAIT NO there are THREE of them: Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, and also Paul Rudd??? These are all somehow different people?!?
Sure, it's annoying to have to wait out a hold on a library book, but in a world where we're being told people are stupid and they don't read, how amazing is it that there are 7-100 people in your community RIGHT NOW wanting to read the same book as you?
NOT JUST A RUMOR walking into empty stalls was super fun
Rumor has it they did convert some of the women’s restrooms for men 😂
The gender breakdown of the line for the Rush concert at MSG is HILARIOUS, like 75% dudes
Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
Correction: nearly 11,000 cases in Michigan alone, over 4,000 in Ohio, over 300 in Oklahoma, 500 in the NYC area alone, more than 700 in Illinois, nearly 1,200 in Indiana, and some hundreds in several other states

odysseus returns home, frustrated that there’s no word to describe what he’s been through
There's a medical study I desperately want to happen, and it wouldn't even be expensive or hard It would be crazy to try to just do it, right?

Truly we have returned to the 1930s I just slipped on a banana peel somebody left lying on the ground
From the outside, being an influencer looks like making a living by following your interests and having fun. I think that's why it's so aspirational for a lot of kids. The shitty reality has to be invisible, because it undermines an influencer's influence.
We need some more deep dives into what a shit job "influencer" is. No job security, hugely variable income, gotta keep feeding the content maw, gotta be "on" 24/7. All the worst bits of being a celebrity with none of the creative satisfaction of making art and a miniscule fraction of the reward.
Just musing about how there hasn't been a new narrative game franchise I love in the Dragon Age/Horizon way in a long time, so we're really due
I just found a list of the best RPGs of 2026 and have heard of literally none of these games before O_o
Over a year ago, we built a prototype for a new Myst Universe game meant for publisher eyes only. This project is NOT in active development, but we're proud of the work the team did, and wanted to share it with you all. Presenting: Project Anglerfish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvNGt02yZNc
Facing federal science budget cuts, biologist Daniel Blumstein resorted to uploading marmot videos to OnlyFans to raise funds for his marmot research. However, when he uploaded his driver’s license for verification, OnlyFans informed him that his appearance didn’t match the marmots in the videos.
‘OnlyMarms’: Marmots Are on OnlyFans to Raise Money for Research (Gift Article)
A team of scientists uploaded videos of the squirrel-like rodents in the wild on the adult-content site OnlyFans to raise money amid government budget cuts.

These pins won't arrive before Gencon, but #soon! (I do have the OG "Lesbians in Space" pins still in stock, but I'm redoing those too)
Three friends are in a hotel room in Sverdlovsk. The first two men open a bottle of vodka, while the third is tired and goes straight to bed. He is unable to sleep however, as his increasingly drunk friends tell political jokes loudly.
I am extremely baffled at the outrage over the perfectly fine and normal phrase "search it up"?
Ugh I just realized in the age of AI you can no longer rely on the Chinese place's website photography to tell if they serve the good dumplings or just basically wontons
I just posted "Novel.css: sample code for Obsidian to display nicely formatted standard book looks" up at the website: https://tobiasbuckell.com/novel-css-sample-code-for-obsidian-to-display-nicely-formatted-standard-book-looks/
this comparison leaves out a key point: the Edsel sold roughly twice the Cybertruck's volume at a time when the overall car market was just 6m units/year instead of the current 16m units/year that makes the Cybertruck the much, much bigger flop, hands down
FREE LINK > Tesla Cybertruck sales have been so weak that it's challenging Ford's Edsel to become the biggest automotive flop of all time. Great tale by Bethany Benjamin > www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Hey Dr. Internet! Is there an actual good reason to do a subcutaneous shot in the belly vs., say, the hip where I have way, way more fat actually? Is this one of those "we only did science on men" things?
This year’s edition: the lawn guys appear to have PICKED ALL OF MY FUCKING RASPBERRIES
JFC, my lawn guys pruned all of my fruiting raspberry canes. For the second year in a row 😭 You can't tell from this angle but that's fully 15 feet of canes gone
friends, please: don’t use transreads dot org they claim to support trans authors, but take our entire texts, post them for free, fundraise off it, and have the gall to claim it’s about preservation they are literally taking money from trans creators and make it harder for us to keep creating
Thinking about how so many people I know said Don’t Look Up was so stupid and over the top and ridiculous but my environmental scientist brother was like “Nope, that’s exactly how it feels”
