I have always said that if country music will openly treat white women the way it does (see thread below), Black folks can hang it up. (Also that it’s particularly shameful, but not at all surprising, that white women help run the industry that oppresses them.)

Anyone shocked that Kathy Mattea wasn't already a member of the Grand Ole Opry should read up on how the industry turned on her for having the unmitigated gall to wear three red AIDS support ribbons at the 1992 CMA Awards.

Today show some support to an author who is important to you. Send a message on social media or the contact form on their website. Bonus points if their books are being banned. Bonus bonus points if they're from a community that is being targeted. Cannot overstate how meaningful these notes can be.
