@beefaerie.bsky.social any thoughts on why the left ad here is paid by parliamentary services? I can’t see how this is anything but political advertising.
they've gone from decrying "eight new taxes" to only seven, like what happened here, did one of them go over some threshold of made up bullshit people are expected to believe, and where is that threshold?

Unemployment at its highest level for 11 years, did I see? And THAT INCLUDES THE COVID AND LOCKDOWN TIMES. Thanks to the Ardern government that protected jobs and businesses at the time.
Sometimes I wonder about the impact of politicians and media treating Ardern with such misogynistic contempt for years on end and it’s pretty frightening to consider that all that energy didn’t die when Ardern left, and is now funneled into policy, and misogyny/ racism is normalised (and rewarded).
Regular viewers will know that I had serious doubts about the 'recovery' well before Trump decided to cause global chaos (and trading opportunities for his buddies). Suffice to say, today's unemployment data is GRIM! Let's have a look... Unemployment rate vs the guesses of clueless ghouls. [🧵 1/n]
Hey Siri, who was in power when unemployment was last this horrifically high? … The same people? But I thought they were good at the economy?
National backs its policies as unemployment rises to 11-year high
At some point we — all of us — have to have a serious conversation about priorities. We can't just keep squeezing corporate profits out of everything and insisting everyone just make do somehow.

Hello NZ govt 👋, maybe this is a better approach than building more prisons & punishing beneficiaries? Hard to argue with the numbers #nzpol
If you include New Zealanders who are underemployed/working part-time when they want to be working full time, there’s 440,000 people who are underutilised in this country in the latest data. That’s 440,000 people who can’t get the hours they need to make ends meet for themselves and their whānau.
There’s an obvious campaign advert for Labour to adapt here:

The insanity of this - absolutely dire, yet RBNZ increase rates and polls show people still are supporting the coalition. Where is our main opposition party? They are invisible. Hipkins needs to go - he’s the worst person for this crucial period.

Free & open for all: Unemployment rate up to 11-year high of 5.6%; Underutilisation rate up to 13-year high of 13.8%; Youth underutilisation up to 37% of workforce; Yet 111,000 work visas were granted & the RBNZ hiked to take 'heat' out of the economy. #nzpol open.substack.com/pub/thekaka/...

If the left want to win the election - solve this ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ They vote it’s shameful for a wealthy country like NZ to let this happen.

Anyone know how to stop Outlook repeatedly warning you that you have an attachment open on an email you are writing? It’s so pointless and so annoying. Whether you answer yes or no, it make no difference.
So Luxon claims he has official advice that Data Centres won't increase energy costs but, when the Greens requested a copy of the advice via an OIA, his office says there wasn't any advice and Luxon was just repeating their talking points, then Nicola says MBIE gave her advice ....🤡 #nzpol
Luxon backpedals after office says 'official' data centre advice actually 'media talking points'
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has landed in another controversy about the OIA.

Nicola Willis and Mark Mitchell suggested this morning that firing Winston Peters would bring down the Government. www.thepost.co.nz/politics/361...
Who could ever have predicted with the vile racism that spews from Winston, that he’d end up with a Nazi following? And I still question how Luxon gets out of bed in the morning with an absent spine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hope the elderly followers of Winston get dismayed.
Who does Winston Peters inspire, and instigate? White supremacists, and those on the far-right who regularly promote the Christchurch killer's violent extremism - almost verbatim, week after week. #nzpol

Re Luxon’s Rotorua embarrassment - when he says they “have the settings right for growth” he means a fucked labour market, high unemployment and removing guardrails for H&S, the environment and consumers. Awful. #nzpol
