Dinosaurs are (mostly) extinct. Let’s not bring them back. We can’t afford the luxury of billionaires.

It's "free" as in "free to express abhorrent views about the patients you serve" not "journalists are free to ask questions to Ministers" you silly gooses

‘Tax relief’ frame. It’s almost as though the people with wealth need special treatment, and can’t really cope with the burden of being grown ups. Can’t do life without support Weirdos needing special conditions just to live. Like they’ve got something wrong with them. So needy. Such babies.

Because ACT aren't even fake libertarians. They just genuflect in the direction of liberty while seeking to arrogate to themselves more state power So what they won't tell you is that the status quo is that NZ has easier, more accessble, more free hunting than any industrialised nation in the world

Because you can’t have a garden in New Zealand there’s a community one out the back of every Mitre 10. Compared to supermarkets it’s pretty cheap and anyone can use it - you just have to pay for at least one item you don’t need every time you go.

It's safe to assume that all major LLMs are scraping Bluesky data to train future models. As an open protocol, Bluesky is one of the few sources of fresh human-generated content that anybody can gobble up. So all this is probably going in the models. There are submarines in the Great Lakes.

I think we should start measuring government programmes in Hayden Donnell's 'metres of roading'. Lowering the age of bowel cancer screening to 45? 5 metres of road. A year of Three Waters? 63 metres of road. Reading recovery? 13mm of road.

every time you see a headline that begins with “we have to,” replace the “we” with “you” and you’ll immediately understand the purpose of the piece and the power dynamics at play

Incredibly sick of these on-repeat articles which describe the cost of greed crisis hurting people across the board, especially the vulnerable - yet fail to ask the politicians and oligarchies responsible for people being unable to heat their houses how they’ll urgently act to change the status quo.

‘A lot of people are going to be cold’: Kiwis brace for winter pain as power costs soar

One in four households struggle to pay their power bills and more than half of New Zealanders are concerned about the cost of their household’s energy.

On the back of the Green Party tax policy I thought I'd reshare this effort to change the language and correctly point out what taxing the rich actually means: reclaiming wealth taken from us in an economy they engineered to enrich themselves. newsroom.co.nz/2025/06/08/l...

Let's call 'taxing the rich' what it really is

Opinion from the University of Auckland: As society groans under the weight of wealth inequality, Dr Neal Curtis calls for a different slogan to ‘tax the rich’.

this is media electioneering. Sorry Henry but I really expected better than this. dropping this with zero context about the immense damage done by National is a journalistic failure at this point it's reporting like this - even if it's just a social media snapshot - that has helped drive down trust

Opportunity Party leader, Q, and local candidate, Netra Ghimire, building a picture of living in a country where purpose and meaning are the foundational values. I really have not ever heard a politician talk about purpose or meaningful life, so closely aligned with economy, health, education
