MindWalkers, first and foremost, are cute. They resemble kinkajous, save they have a ruffled frill around the neck rather than ears. Typically shades of brown, they also have prehensile tails and long fingers with sharp nails to help them climb around the trees. #Critterary #MindWalkers #YA

Today we're talking appearance! What exactly does your creature(s) look like? Any variations/regional differences? #Writing #WritingPrompts #Critterary

#Critterary 2: The New Batch (of prompts) - An August writing prompt game. Today's Theme: Appearance. Description time! What does your creature(s) look like? Size, shape, weight, colours, texture, special features... Bottom Tagline: Celebration of all things creatures! Hosted by Serra Leta. Art is a man bent on a knee, examining something with a magnifying glass. Background is a fern-filled jungle.

Dogs make the world better, but they are definitely not bright. It's POURING outside. We showed Juniper it was raining. She still wanted to go out. Made it 5 steps before she gave us her "It's wet!" expression and came back inside. 🤦‍♀️

I used hormonal birth control to prevent hemorrhaging and passing out. To try to get ahead of debilitating pain. To gain some kind of control over when my period would arrive. Ultimately, it wasn't enough, and I had my hysterectomy. But I couldn't have survived that long without it.

I'm going to alienate some people now. Abortion is a critical part of gynecological care. Full stop. Hormonal birth control is used by many individuals simply to regulate difficult menstrual cycles. Legislators who don't understand the minutiae of reproductive biology should SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I think the award for smallest intelligent creature probably goes to MindWalkers. They're about the size of a house cat. Unfortunately, like the squild, their sentient status has been intentionally quashed. #AnthropologyAugust #MindWalkers #YA

#AnthropologyAugust Once again doing the opposite, we just talked about the largest intelligent species, now what is the smallest? Does your setting have goblins or gnomes? Or does it have even smaller creatures like bugs or fairies? Does their size affect their interactions with other species?

For everyone out there, especially anyone with compromised health, be careful. A kid we know is one of a huge number of Coasties who were hit BAD with COVID. To the point of needing hospitalization. And, of course, the news isn't going to talk about it.

If it's memoir time, Gielle isn't holding back. She's diving straight in and pulling back the curtains on "secrets" many people would prefer to remain hidden. Absolutely unapologetic. 😁 #AwesomeCharacters #MindWalkers #YA

Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters Your character is writing their memoirs! How honest are they being? Are they playing up their heroism and the drama? Are they leaving anything out? Why? What tone will it have? #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

No kaiju, though the people of Maris might argue after encountering one. Squild are megafauna with incredible intelligence. They coordinate attacks on ships near their fishing grounds. But the System refuses to count them as sufficiently sentient. #AnthropologyAugust #MindWalkers #YA

#AnthropologyAugust We have talked about the rarest, and the most plentiful but now let’s talk about the biggest. Do you have any intelligent species that could be considered megafauna? Or even larger that might be kaiju sized? #promptgame #prompt #writesky #writingcomunity

What is the largest intelligent species in your setting?

Of course the AI always is polite. Of course people are falling for it. It’s called love bombing, and it’s often used by abusive partners. What do you think AI is, other than an abusive partner trying to control us? The AI apocalypse isn’t fought with guns.

Starting the week off getting up before dawn for an MRI. Good times. Here we go: 🐉 Start my #Smaugust drawings (I'm not doing the whole month) 🧶 Start an amigurumi gift for a friend 👩‍⚕️ Finish OT on my elbow 🗒 At least make some writing notes #QueerWriters

MindWalkers aren't the most respected species. Most people refer to them as demons, Mind Snatchers, Puppeteer, and other derogatory names. Science is still puzzling out their ancestry as fossils provide no indication of telepathic abilities. #Critterary #MindWalkers #YA

Names, names, names... Starting off we're discussing if your creature(s) has any other names (in any language) they might go by in your story, categorization, and if there's any other family tree relations. #Writing #WritingPrompts #Critterary

#Critterary 2: The New Batch (of prompts) - An August writing prompt game. Today's Theme: Species Name/Relation to Other Creatures! Starting up with names! What other names does your creature(s) go by? Do they have an in-depth categorization (Kingdom, Phylum, Class, etc.?) Are they related to other creatures in your story? Bottom Tagline: Celebration of all things creatures! Hosted by Serra Leta. Art is a representation of a family tree, where a stick tree has the end of each branch represented by a cycle. Background is a fern-filled jungle.

Now THAT would be spoiling things. 😉 Suffice it to say the System's Sentience Levels may intentionally overlook a few species out of fear and/or prejudice. A major plot point in the series. #AnthropicAugust #MindWalkers #YA

#AnthropologyAugust Yesterday we talked about the most common intelligent species, whether that be the most well spread or the highest population. Today let’s talk about the opposite What is the rarest intelligent species? How did they become so few? Are any near extinction? #promtgame #writesky

Day 2 : What is the least common or rarest intelligent species in your world? Was this always the case?
