Add Rod Liddle to this list, for most Irish people he will be known as the lad who left his wife for a young wan whom he subsequently beat up at twenty weeks pregnant. If you are upset at his passing. You probably need to take a day or two off to access where things went so badly wrong in your life.

As a cyclist, I have absolutely no problem obeying any law so long as it is based on reason and facts. Bringing in reg plates, mandatory hiviz and helmets is not backed by any study to make cycling safe. It’s a reactionary policy by someone who is either too stupid to know that it or doesn’t care.

One clearly underreported aspect of the yearly hatefest is that a lot of people straight up just leave Northern Ireland for Ireland entirely because it’s simply too dangerous to be non-Orange. Several people in Belfast have told me this. (Corrected from earlier post)
