Andy Burnham has immediately focused on bringing 'a new political and economic model' - drawing a contrast with what happened in the 1980s - in all of his recent speeches. This bodes well and shows he wants to bring genuine change.

A big congratulations to @andyburnham.bsky.social on his resounding win in Makerfield! These results are clear, when the progressive vote unites, Farage and Reform don’t stand a chance.
Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.
I know we shouldn't respond to the trolling, but Vance implying that Sikhs are part of a "mass invasion of migrants", when they fought in tens of thousands for the British in two world wars and even THE INDIAN MUTINY is 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
I saw a headline about the Greens' candidate for Makerfield quitting and I immediately wondered if it had been a case of antisemitism. Unfortunately, yes it was. Turns out the frontrunner had previously been Hayley Pierce, but her prospects were damaged by social media posts about... Israel.
Say hello to Chris Kennedy - Safeguarding Nurse, battle-tested Green Campaigner, Passionate Grassroots Visionary and your Green Party candidate for Makerfield 💚

I’ve interviewed at length people in post-industrial northern England. What they are crying out for is more progressive radicalism – not less, says senior research fellow Sacha Hilhorst

Brilliant evening hearing stories from #MUFC legend Bryan Robson at Hotel Football. Apparently Ferguson told United striker McClair to man mark Barcelona defender Koeman in the 1991 European Cup Winners Cup Final because he set up all their attacks… but no other United player knew about it. Clever!
In Premier League football the lifespan of a Manger is around 1.7 seasons & declining. Politics is not a sport & you cannot build meaningful change with populism. The media are not free nor owned by ordinary citizens. These witch hunts are dressed up as many things but underneath lies elite greed. 🐽
Reform Deputy Leader Richard Tice refused to condemn a new councillor who said Nigerians should be melted down to fill potholes😡 Name a Business, Financial Institution, University, School, Public Sector etc where Management would support someone who said that❓ None, they’d be sacked immediately❗️

It never ceases to amaze me how many election pundits don’t understand the dynamics of First Past the Post, and how vote-splitting works under the UK’s electoral system. John Curtice does. Listen to John Curtice.

Laura Kuenssberg, "Nigel Farage was set to be here, but he he changed his mind" Does that have anything to do with his undeclared £5,000,000 gift?
In Hastings yesterday several Reform UK disruptors showed up to a Green Party rally. One of them was filmed making multiple Nazi salutes. Reform UK are infested with Nazis and antisemites, but the media seemingly aren’t interested in them. Why?

A timely reminder of just how enthusiastic Farage was about Trump attacking Iran .. He will try to distance himself from the shit show, but let’s make sure we don’t let him achieve that❗️👍🏼
