Evergreen tree branches frame the train from the foreground and evergreen trees provide a dark green background. The scene is dusk and the train lights are on.

I've been told for years I should run TTRPGs professionally. I finally stopped arguing with everyone. I'm running Shadowdark on StartPlaying.games, and this link gets you $10 credit if you want to join.

Side-stepping my imposter syndrome into a fantasy city

If you've ever thought "I wonder what playing a fantasy TTRPG with the guy known for making graphic novels about 90s internet teens would be like," well, now you can find out! I'm running a tabletop RPG campaign on StartPlaying.games, and this link gets you $10 credit. StartPlaying is a service where you can find professional GMs and play TTRPGs online. I've used it as a player and love it. After several years of friends telling me "you could totally do this professionally," I decided to sidestep my imposter syndrome and actually do it. ### About the adventure You can hear Meridia before you see it. Beggars recite poetry on the canal bridges. Boat rowers bellow epic ballads. Even the City Guard hums on patrol. It's the most beautiful city in the Western Reaches, and someone is quietly killing it. The setting is from Cursed Scroll 6, an as-yet unreleased supplement by Kelsey Dionne, the creator of Shadowdark. City of Masks is the game's first official urban setting. Think _The Princess Bride's_ swashbuckling, _A Crown of Candy's_ fun characters, and _Andor's_ against-all-odds hope. You'll chase rumors through smoky taverns, face horrific creatures in murky sewers, duel corrupt officials on canal bridges at midnight, infiltrate masked factions from street level to the top, and unravel a city-wide mystery that changes with every thread you pull. ### Why Shadowdark? It's fast, fun, and built for real tension. If you've played any version of D&D, you already know 90% of the rules. If not, this is the easiest, most fun way to learn D&D. Portland City Council is cleanly split between a “close fire stations, defund wildly popular voter initiatives, and glaze the cops with cash” bloc and a “keep fire stations open, uphold voter initiatives, and cut managerial bloat” bloc

Councilors Smith, Pirtle Guiney, Ryan, Clark, Novick, and Zimmerman voted against Green 1 which created ongoing funding for Fire Station 22 near the CEI Hub and located in District 2 through management cuts. The amendment fails 6-6.

heard a guy say "you have to access it through the portal" and i was momentarily struck by how sad it is that what he said is so boring :( "accessing it via the portal" should be wonderful. we deserve that at least. it should be cool to access it via the portal and instead it sucks shit

Watching David Attenborough get highly deserved praised for his century is reminding me: There is no crisis of masculinity, as such. We have plenty of positive male role models in our society. They just aren’t being pushed into young men’s feeds by nihilistic ad networks and social platforms.
