Years ago, I was walking home late one night, and a drunk guy was harassing me - trying to get me to go home with him, pushy sex comments, etc. After a few mins, his mate turned to him and said, firmly but not aggressively, "MATE. leave her alone, yeah?" And he did. I think about him all the time.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

We just got a mobile phone emergency alert about UK wildfires. Not in our area, just in general. There really needs to be a gradient of these, from say "don't use fireworks" to "nukes are raining down on us as you read this".
