As a reminder for everyone saying, "The US had never before scored four goals in a World Cup" that they mean the men's team had never before scored that many. The women's team has absolutely scored more than four goals in a world cup, including in the final. And they also wins things.

I have been in situations where someone thinks "mutual respect" means subservience and obedience from one person and does not require accountability or clear communication from both parties. There is no amicable way forward due to this power dynamic, but it becomes pretty clear to everyone else.

Tragedies like this are inevitable when the ruling class use islamophobia for profit & power “[CAIR] noted the attack comes as anti-Muslim bias complaints reached their highest level since they began tracking them in 1996, w/ 8,683 complaints filed nationwide.” www.democracynow.org/2026/5/19/sa...

thinking abt my 11th grade US history class in Greensboro, NC. yes, my teacher told us the Civil War was fought over states’ rights—but today, it strikes me even more how she barely touched on post-Reconstruction backlash. if she hadn’t, perhaps I’d be a little more prepared to live in these times.
