I think we're also looking at an incongruity of fidelity, kind of like what turned people away from the Star Fox remake. Link's eyes are big, his eyebrows dramatic: stylized. He has a preponderance of shiny, specular reflections and very detailed clothes: "realistic". They are choices at war.
