E-bike hive member since 2020. Biked to all 81 Chicago Public Library branches as a shitpost. Pro-Chicago til the day I die.

I drove to the next state over (Gary, IN) because they had more appointments and my ADHD-ass couldn’t play the game of “log in at the exact right time to get one in Cook County” Ordered a literal custom cake on the way home from the second appt to celebrate (S/O Brown Sugar Bakery)

I got a flu booster today and it made me reflect on the sense of national accomplishment I felt when I drove to a public facility, waited in my car until my number was called on an app, and got my first covid jab. It's fucked the right gets to erase what a moment of technological liberation that was

We should normalise "like selling coffee/cake/donuts to cyclists" as an idiom for something that's absolutely piss easy because for one thing it's true but also it might embarrass business owners into not blaming their failure on bike lanes when it's usually because their coffee tastes like ass.

Our kids see our unhoused neighbors in Mpls every day. They’ve never had a negative interaction or a threat to their safety. They HAVE had so many opportunities to talk & learn about the inequities in our society and build empathy for other people with less privilege than we have.

Theory…the exonerative tense we use for drivers, “car crashes into building” while eliding agency for the driver will be used for these AI systems. …and it will largely defang our ability to respond (in the same way we’ve chosen to ignore societal costs of private autos).
