From the pretty ok StP (sorry to brag). Just a dude. Trying to abide. He/Him.

A new study shows that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and over $1 trillion every year. The new research out of Yale shows that reductions in administrative overhead, lower pharmaceutical prices, less fraudulent billing, and fewer emergency care trips would lead to huge savings. /1

Yale Study: Medicare for All Would Save Over 114,000 Lives and $1 Trillion a Year | Common Dreams

"Do not tell me we cannot afford Medicare for All," the senator said. "What we cannot afford is a broken healthcare system based on greed."

Mamdani: "As we mark 250 years ... we see the wealthiest country -- one where children go to sleep hungry while the world's first trillionaire hungers for more ... we see masked agents terrorizing our streets, eating food cooked by undocumented neighbors before spiriting them away in unmarked vans"

JUST IN: Judge Provinzino in Minnesota has held a Justice Department attorney in civil contempt for violations of her order requiring the return of a released ICE detainee’s ID documents. He must pay $500 a day until the documents are returned.

I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it. I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.” 1/

People can have different political opinions about immigration policy. Political differences are fine, healthy for a democracy. But if you’re okay with this, that’s not a political opinion. That is a moral failing. 27/

Everything you’re hearing from the Trump administration is a lie. Today was one of the most active days in Northeast since the entire Operation Metro Surge began. Nothing is changing on the ground in Minneapolis, no matter what headlines Trump and Homan try to create.

There's some sort of argument over legalizing weed in Ward 4 whatever precinct that is. So. I don't know why they have two precincts in one room. But they seem to be having more fun.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

#OnThisDay Feb 1, 1942: Vidkun Quisling becomes Minister President of Norway, actively supporting Nazi war efforts and the deportations of his own people to concentration camps. His name becomes a famous eponym for those who collaborate with enemy forces occupying their own country.

Black and white photo at a dramatic low angle of Vidkun Quisling speaking into microphones while standing at a unusually tall, white lectern. The symbol of the norwegian fascist party "National Gathering" on display, a circle with a cross, crowned with an eagle.

Tom Emmer lies about his own constituents: "If you go to my state, the pictures you're seeing of these mobs in Minneapolis, these are paid agitators and protesters. Yeah, you got some Minnesotan anarchists that are in there, but they are people coming from outside our state."

This morning, federal agents staged at the Powderhorn Park Recreation Center lot and began to throw chemical irritants at observers. They also kidnapped an observer. Our parks are meant for our children, youth, and neighbors. They should never be militarized zones meant to separate families. 1/
