2026 Reading Challenge (1900-2026) Book 71, 1970. Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown. 📚💙

I’m not coming into this blind and I’m certainly not shocked by the history presented here, as many of Dee Brown’s readers would have been when this was first published in 1970, but I have just been so angry and sad every day since I started reading this 10 days ago.

Levin is a master of suspense. This is a taut, spare, thriller narrated perfectly by Simon Prebble. Can’t stop listening.

Both these roosters are beautiful and friendly but having two roosters can be challenging. The big boy on the right is still young and awfully hard on the girls and our other fella has to work hard to keep him in line.

Listening to the audiobook of The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell and I can’t understand why no one has turned this into a film or a series yet. I can only assume that Mike Flanagan hasn’t read it yet.
