I saw The Matrix in the theatre when I was still in undergrad and thought, "oh no. my family's going to be living underground." So I guess I'm ready to be pushed out by the machines, or whatever.

I appreciate the willingness to amend the expectations of this assignment when students voiced their desire to complete it without AI. I'd encourage professors not to make AI use mandatory for assessments because it's an ableist assumption that all work should be approached in one way.

Dr. Lucky Tran@luckytran.com · 4d agoIt’s always odd to me when I get asked if I am wearing a mask because I am sick. In my experience, these days most people wearing a mask are doing so to prevent themselves getting sick, and most people who are sick don’t wear a mask at all.

Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.

Are companies and organizations that are forcing AI use creating policies for potential AI delusion in workers? Has HR been preparing for this? Are employees being trained to identify and report colleagues who are exhibiting this behaviour?
I keep coming back to this because research is showing that even casual AI users lose skills. We're actively de-skilling the population.
