The drama continues. Anthropic asks the US gov to step in for “safety” by crippling the ability of China to obtain Nvidia chips (or circumventing law by training models offshore using their chips). OpenAI agrees. But it seems like Trump & Jensen like money too much to consider it, which checks out.

Wild. The president makes it clear that his #1 priority is to make lots of money from the AI revolution and that any talk about safety is a “hoax”. Amodei’s call to halt Chinese model development was primarily out of self-interest… but I wouldn’t call it a hoax.
