When I lived in a small, conservative town, moments of community & the reminder that I was not alone, drowning in a MAGA sea, were precious. So, while I try to do little things to help my community, attending rallies is, for this reason, has become one of those things (see note attached). #nokings

Cardboard sign featuring a drawing of a pill bottle. The label on the bottle says “take to prevent electile dysfunction” and the pills are labeled with text like “reject the SAVE Act” and “ban ICE from polling places”Cardboard sign with March Madness brackets that pit MAGA policies like banning books against liberatory policies like funding public ed (with the liberatory policies winning). The large text reads MARCH, stop the MADNESSWhen I lived in a small, conservative town in rural NC, moments of community and the reminder that I was not alone, drowning in a MAGA sea, were precious. They gave me energy to keep going and reminded me that what felt like truth (that everyone around me supported greedy, heartless cruelty) was not truth but volume.
I try to do lots of things to leave the world a little better than it was, than it has been. I don’t know that they all work and they often feel useless. I often feel useless. So I also try to go to the rallies. Because I know I’m not the only one struggling. Because I want others who feel alone to know that they have community. So that we can be seen standing up for each other, and so that we can reenergize to keep doing the small things to make the world a little better. Because it matters more than we think or feel. Kindness matters. Community matters. YOU matter.

Too often, even allies fall in line when crumbs are offered. I won’t.  I’m here for the people who are hungry today. The seniors rationing insulin. The kids without clean water.  Justice isn’t crumbs from the table. It’s choosing communities over comfort, every time.

We’ve seen enough pull-ups from Hegseth and RFK Jr. Just make the skies safer by hiring more air traffic controllers and hold the damn airlines accountable instead of letting them off the hook.

This is Bear. He is in charge of supervising Thanksgiving dinner preparation. Appointed himself to the role, but takes it very seriously. 14/10 (TT: emileebellant)

"Europeans recognize his vision about free public transit and universal childcare. We expect our governments to make these kinds of services accessible to all of us,” said Verbeek. “We pay higher taxes and get civilized societies in return."

Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
