Anyone who thinks an Amy Acton victory won’t convince Democrats to adopt anti-trans stances should read any related thread on /r/Ohio. The number of liberals and Democrats that have now fully adopted trans sports bans being good in Ohio is unreal.

1. In the aftermath of forcing the Ohio Progressive Caucus to delete criticism of Amy Acton for calling trans girls "boys," progressives were promised a meeting with Acton. Now, we have learned she didn't show up, and kicked trans people out of the meeting. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Pretty shocking stuff here. According to @ari4ohio.bsky.social, Dr. Amy Acton's campaign refused to allow the leadership of the Ohio Dem Progressive Caucus to attend last night's listening session after Acton announced support for bans on trans athletes. They also wouldn't let Childrey in either.

The Acton campaign has made the decision to block me (a trans woman and Vice Chair of the ODP Pride Caucus) from tonight's call. That tells me all I need to know about how serious they are about listening to trans Ohioans.

Proud to be officially endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio! Every Ohioan deserves a leader who will listen to them, protect their healthcare choices, and fight for a better path forward. Let’s reject the political games and build a stronger, more inclusive future for Ohio.

When candidates say "boys in girls' sports," they aren't being nuanced—they are refusing to recognize trans identity. Trans girls are girls. Trans boys are boys. There's no middle ground on civil rights. Ohio Democrats must do better. This framing hurts the community.

Proud to earn Equality Ohio’s top A+ Champion of Equality rating. This is more than a scorecard — it reflects my unwavering commitment to full equality for all, especially Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community. I’ll keep fighting for it every day, in or out of office.

Vivek wants Ohio as Silicon Valley 2.0 — data centers everywhere, skyrocketing costs, only for billionaires. Farmland gone. Energy bills exploding. Working families pushed out. Dr. Amy Acton will fight for us, not tech bros. We need her in the Governor’s mansion.

As a trans candidate impacted in 2024, I applaud Rep. Tex Fischer for keeping his word. HB 950 is a step forward on name disclosure rules. Not perfect, but real progress. Democrats and Republicans who want fairness should support it. www.nbc4i.com/news/politic...

I am proud to announce that Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE) has endorsed me for State Representative OH-84! Trans rights are being targeted at the local, state, and federal level. If elected, I pledge to fight for the rights, dignity, and opportunity of ALL my constituents.

Every day, my opponent Rep. Angie King walks past this giant EQUALITY sign in the Statehouse basement. Then she sponsors and votes for bills stripping rights & equality from LGBTQ+ Ohioans. She doesn’t believe in equality — she just walks right past it. #Ari4Ohio

I’m Arienne Childrey, working-class candidate for OH-84. I’m not a wealthy politician. I’m a trans woman & former city council member in rural Ohio, juggling bills just like you. We need leaders who actually live the struggles of the 84th. (1/3)

This is the real reason for the SAVE Act. Weyrich admitted conservatives gain leverage when fewer people vote. Its strict proof-of-citizenship rules hit hardest married women (name changes) and the poor — groups less likely to vote Republican. Lower turnout = more power for them
