"the moment you compromise the rights of a trans person in America, you compromise the rights of every citizen in America" - AOC quite healing to hear a single politician actually articulate this basic basic point

Trans voter to @aoc.bsky.social: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that? AOC:

My colleagues and I are bringing forward a resolution calling on Minneapolis Public Schools to delay the vote on their plan that will close 16 schools across the city, including Field Elementary. This plan will be really destabilizing for our communities. MPS do the right thing!

Groundwork’s NPC members are continuing their reflections on their term thus far. Next up is Kareem, who discusses the differences between his two terms, why cross tendency political communication can often feel strained and alienated, and the state of his sports fandoms. Link below!

Last Sunday, GW's NPC members voted for the NPC to decide on a potential presidential endorsement by March 2027— following the precedent by which DSA endorsed Bernie Sanders in 2020. Our statement on the vote is below:

RESULT: David Morales, a socialist challenger, has ousted the mayor of Providence David Smiley. Add Providence to NYC, DC, and Ann Arbor as socialist wins in mayoral elections.

Centrist Democrats are building a SuperPAC-funded flood of racist attacks, and making it their main tool against left candidates like Zohran Mamdani, Melat Kiros, and Abdul El-Sayed. @blimpjuice.bsky.social tracks this strategy's rise, and how to fight back. powermapmag.substack.com/p/the-democr...

The Democratic Establishment Is Getting Really Racist

For Democratic leadership, spending millions in racist ads is fine if it’s against the left

bruh, you cannot, must not look away when they trying to sell you $31 million in police overtime (to an already bloated $230 million budget), sell you a "mysterious" $30 mil budget deficit and need for you to pony up more cash. You should be outraged. You should demand better.

Minneapolis leaders are weighing budget cuts and a possible property tax increase as the city faces a $30 million shortfall.

I am extremely troubled by the amount of standby pay issued to MPD officers during Operation Metro Surge. MPD data shows some officers were paid nearly 24 hours per day for 32 days straight, while dozens were paid 8-12 extra hours each day while we stood out in the cold protecting our neighbors. 1/

The Minneapolis Police Department is on pace to blow its budget by over $23 million this year — well beyond the extra overtime racked up during the federal immigration crackdown.

I am proud to be a @twincitiesdsa.org member, and one of two Democratic Socialists serving in the Minnesota Senate. I have the joy of representing District 62 – the heart of South Minneapolis, and I'm honored to have earned our DSA chapter’s endorsement in my re-election campaign.

Text reading “PROUDLY ENDORSED BY
TWIN CITIES” with large red text saying “DSA”, with a picture of Omar Fateh in front of it. More text reading “Fateh for Minnesota Senate” by Twin Cities DSA’s logo, and “A better world is possible!”

James I., GW member and NYC-DSA Steering rep from the Bronx/Upper Manhattan, has been with Team Darializa since the beginning. He joined her kitchen cabinet in December when Darializa was seeking DSA endorsement, and was a strong advocate for demonstrating how her campaign fit GW's theory of change.
