Good to help someone get a new #Brompton this weekend. Then my wife also got out on hers for a quick spin. Not quite the exact region for the Brommie but it brings a smile when folks show up with them. Not all riding is for sport/fitness

Just found out that the Maryland Outdoor Business Directory has been updated. There's even a section now which highlights the shops who sell and service ebikes (which will be handy for a few folks): maryland.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboa...

This is a great memorial event… and reminds of why other bike/ped crossings are needed here. I’m glad the MDTA supports multimodal infrastructure around the state
TheMDTA is escorting riders across the Hatem Bridge, helping cyclists safely continue their 1,250 mile journey honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. This crossing supports America 250 and highlights the 9/11 National Memorial Trail connecting communities across the region.
This was cool. Love seeing project builds. But especially when there’s care and a personal story attached youtu.be/wKZ-CHhN9XQ?...

The amount of info I’ve been given recently with how transportation items are evolving has been quite the read/listen… even today’s multimodal meeting has had layers I’ve got to somehow keep in mind

Didn’t even realize it is #WorldBicycleDay… guess I feel like it’s this case everyday hehehe 🚲 It’s enjoyable to be in a state & region where there are just so many ways to take your bike around. And soon, much improved places to park, work, & thrive

There are a LOT of great global Bluesky urbanists and organizations that are definately worth following — this past STARTER PACK of mine is just a taste. Who is it missing? I hope a lot more are joining and participating here every day. Please help spread the word. #UrbanistShoutOut
Back when I did Mobile Ministry Magazine, seeing the papacy publish things like this was a literal dream… www.vatican.va/content/leo-... Glad to see/read it… there’s lots here many theo-technologists would be wise to at least consider. And some who have a non-religious bent could too

Hanging out at Trek Columbia for the #BikeToWork pitstop. We ended up making today basically the pick up day; it works out well to have helmets from @bikemaryland.org along with the T-shirts and a few other goodies.

As we keep seeing breathless headlines about the dangers of ebikes, this is the data: "94% of reported pedestrian and cyclist injuries involved a car or truck...while e-bike, e-scooter and moped riders caused just 2.4% of all reported pedestrian injuries." nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/04/24/t...

A new look into emergency room data at one Manhattan hospital shows a need for more infrastructure, despite what you might have read elsewhere.

The other day I listened to a presentation from someone who worked on the recent Massachusetts micromobility commission report, and I really appreciated him mentioning that what is needed is better and expanded infrastructure to support electric micromobility in order to reduce pedestrian conflicts.
Pedestrian and e-bike (or acoustic bike!) conflicts often arise because pedestrians, cyclists, rollers, etc. are all sharing the small amounts of space not given to cars. We need to take space from cars to make room for better infrastructure to support micromobility. 2/
As I always say, all I want is for e-bikes to be discussed in a way that aligns with the actual risks and takes into account the larger context of traffic violence and the fact that cars are still the most dangerous. We need less talk about bans and crackdowns and more focus on infrastructure. 1/

Hung out with @bikemaryland.org at the African-American community roundtable health event today. Give away a lot of helmets and encouraged a lot of folks to get back to their bicycles.
Made a tweak to go with scribbles instead of dictation/typed on the notepad, and yea, it’s better… …do I lose the “ease” of LLM analysis? Yep. But that wasn’t the point of this. …do I gain a more sticky memory of some client interactions? Yep Unfolding more later
This device should not exist because it *can't* exist without a market of perverted individuals. It will be marketed for sports, for health, for fashion, for safety, but it is not *designed* to satisfy those purposes and will never be optimised to. 7/x
Now, imagine if Bluesky went down and never came back up again. But you log into Blacksky like nothing happened. You 🫵🏾 are used to your friendships and connections being lost because of a corporation’s actions. The collective AT Protocol project is to demonstrate otherwise. Tell a friend.
Birds are conversational. Chatty even. Some, shout too much. Autos, buses, and trains have this steady, more annoying sound. It enters loudly, and leaves slowly. “Cities aren’t loud, cars are,” was this morning’s immediate thought.
Been so so long since getting over to the wildlife refuge. Has been a great day to just take in the miles and reflect on this latest trip around the sun.
In agreement with @eclecticcapital.bsky.social analysis here. Blacksky’s business model thus far has been patronage which is what gives me freedom in my leadership decisions (building things like Assembly, etc) “Coordination IS the moat” “[Technology] has not democratized economic value”

When you see how much of the state & federal budget is allocated towards car infrastructure vs trains, bus & cycling; it'll radicalize you. Especially when you consider how many pedestrians are injured or killed by drivers w/ limited consequences. Entire communities were razed for cars so #fuckcars
Whether he does it or not, there's no coming back from that type of threat from a world leader.
