Alex Koppel@arsduo.bsky.social · 2w agoSomething I love about @annleckie.com's Imperial Radch novels is how they explore the full range of their universe: all the planets and cultures and stories, well beyond the characters and drama of the first trilogy. For me I find that really refreshing and engaging!

Exactly! The movie sets up multiple moments for character growth and emotional intelligence will matter; each time it sneers at how stupid that idea is and gets to punching. (Not to mention, the first villain is literally a progressive-parody HR lady.)

turns out I still have strong feelings about this year's Masters of the Universe (it's the first really/unexpectedly MAGA mainstream movie I've seen, I hated it)
