Get Knuckle Jet on Steam, piping hot! s.team/a/3199470 Art director for Rain Games, makers of the (Annie Award nominated!) Teslagrad franchise, World To The West, Mesmer and Girl Genius:AICH. Personal account, posts may contain dad jokes.
no one knows this, but knuckle jet is a different genre covert standalone sequel to world to the west, made as a sort of attempt at 'ok, what can you do with the 2d zelda formula that feels fresh' . looking back at it it, it actually pioneered a few things that the zelda series later embraced

I don't think teslagrad 1 gets enough credit for how it was the first game to combine puzzle platformer design with metroidvania style ability expansions
One thing about the production of the knuckle jet tracks that feature vocals: i've always been of the opinion that as long as the general point gets across, the muddier the better, because what you can't get a grip on is catchier than a clean cut package
I would have loved to make a metroid game for 3 reasons: 1#, i have some good ideas for innovative mechanics that would work within the series, #2, jørn would have nailed the vibe of overall metroid music and would have given them original themes to recycle for the next 20+ years
Been reading a lot of michel faber's stuff lately and i'm impressed by his ability to solidly put you in your place and accept his settings

Based on our previous games, I'm fairly certain there's no human alive able to guess what our current game prototypes are about
Typical knuckle jet soundtrack assignment (given to humans, not ai): imagine if german prog rock band 'can' made the soundtrack to the first konami nes ninja turtles game, but with an early 90s pinball table sound engine
The best thing about having the same composers for your games for 16+ years is that you can request a cheeky transformative remix of a track from an earlier game in a new context for worldbuilding purposes and they get it right instinctively because you've shared the journey
I want to give Jørn and Linn (bear&cat) extra credit for making knuckle jet work as well as it did, they really went above and beyond with the soundtrack. It's the biggest soundtrack they've ever done for us, nearly 4 hours in lenght, all made by real live humans

Been visiting my almost 90 year old grandma who just had a minor stroke, luckily she's still sharp as a tack and has her mobility. It's always interesting hearing her opinion on current events.
If you're old enough to not be embarrassed for watching media intended for kids and enjoyed the Paddington films, i'd like to recommend the swedish 'bamse' franchise. it's agressively nice and humanist in a similar slightly 'wouldn't it be nice' tongue in cheek, but honest way
Knuckle jet has quite a few cut levels we didn't have time to finish, not promising anything but it would be nice if we could polish them up as a bonus world to get the total level count up to 100

Watching the british series 'the gold' and i suddenly realised ridley scott's 'prometheus' isn't 'a fairly recent movie', despite my brain insisting it is
Just giving an extra shout-out for Knuckle Jet. Great, gorgeous platformer with a hand-made aesthetic. Technically part of the Teslagrad/World to the West series, but perfectly fine as a standalone thing. Also has *multiple* SatAM/pop-punk songs about punching the rich and powerful in the face.

What's this? An off-the-wall, riveting jetpunk nose-breaking ricochet action platformer, lovingly crafted by the oddballs behind the Teslagrad series!

Well Dweller gets my top recommendation, and Jet Knuckle would too if it wasn't PC-only at the moment. Having those two come out back-to-back made for a fantastic gaming month.
old enough to remember people were professionally disgraced for trading in their xbox 360 review copies at CEX
Only 100 functioning Silent Hill: Townfall CRTVs were made, sent out to different influencers before the games release, and someone's already selling theirs for over $300 😬 It's a cute toy, but savage to be like "I do not need it".
Oh, these games were all fantastic. KNUCKLE JET was my favorite of the night, every inch of it oozing with anticorporate ire, like a punk Rocketeer. It's also SUPER smooth; closest I can remember in recent years was that sand-digging Pepper Grinder. Every inch of this game absolutely slaps!
