Actually quite angry reading this. I know it’s a bit passé to talk about “why don’t politicians crack down on people not using headphones on the bus” but I think we do need to reckon with platforms that incentivise people to completely disregard the norms of civil society and get away with it.

Someone I follow here and respect said “you can’t legislate for vibes”, but because I am weird my instant reaction was to think yes you can actually, it’s called Fourier analysis. And _then_ I started thinking about the _other_ Fourier, the one with the utopian ideas. I really need a holiday.
