Rejecting LLMs isn’t about rejecting their utility or failing to be aware of their power —it’s about rejecting that political project; born out of an awareness that any use of these machines at all promulgates that project and assembles me into adjacent responsibility for its commission.

LLMs don't need to be as terrible for the environment as they are. They didn't need to be packaged as chatbots, designed to be addictive, and rolled out with no safety protocols. They didn't need to be marketed as a replacement for human labour. These were all choices made by their American owners.

For me, LLMs are clearly powerful machines, but everything about their construction and deployment in society by the people constructing them appears oriented around achieving a political project that deeply conflicts with my values or a vision of a future I want to live in and dont have a choice in

okay just to be clear everyone, cyclaspora can absolutely be spread human to human if you are infected and do not wash your hands properly after shitting and before preparing food for other people. there's a very easy way to avoid human to human spread but. it can www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

UK warned about 'explosive diarrhoea' cyclospora infection

The UK is seeing a sharp rise in cases - 67 since April - with many of them among travellers returning from Mexico.

"Burnham will not be able to offer the excuse that he is unaware of the links between the DWP & the countless deaths of claimants. He has previously told disabled activist Shabaaz Mohammed that he has read The Department, which investigates the years of deaths linked to DWP’s actions and failings."

Burnham offers hints on DWP policy as he promises a ‘fair and sustainable’ way to bring down spending #AndyBurnham #DWP www.disabilitynewsservice.com/burnham-offe...

Burnham may be popular but he doesn’t care about the people. He’s made it clear, at minimum, that trans people, immigrants, and disabled people can all fuck off and die as far as he’s concerned.

Burnham is a danger to sick and disabled claimants. With these likely cuts he's proven he's worse than a Tory. Andy is a foul liar and his cuts will be his legacy, because he'll be remembered for the harm he causes to weak and vulnerable social security recipients

When will we see difficult choices presented to the reach and the wealth hoarders, asks Zack Polanski? Why does Labour always punch down? Burnham is no different from Starmer or Badenoch or Farage, in the pocket of the rich and on the neck of the workers, disabled people and those out of work.

One thing you can absolutely guarantee in life. When Labour ministers talk about difficult choices, it's never the rich and powerful that will be taking a hit.

Andy Burnham to make it harder for people to claim benefits as he vows to get serious about cutting welfare bill

He literally said it in a BBC interview this morning. Burnham is going to slash welfare for sick and disabled people, which in turn will lead to the deaths of vulnerable people. This Labour government is no different to the Tories. Burnham is a con artist.

Benefits as a percentage of GDP have remained at the same level for decades. All this vilification of the sick and disabled is purely to demonise others, just as with trans people and migrants, to get more money for bombs and bullets www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Burnham to make some benefits conditional and ‘get serious’ about cutting welfare

New prime minister has also warned that ‘the NHS will collapse’ unless he fixes social care

Burnham picks the architect of the murderous work capability assessments to be his chief of staff. This villain is a direct cause of suffering for sick and disabled people. It’s already over. Burnham is as bad as Starmer, if not worse. No hope for Labour.

Meet James Purnell. Andy Burnham's chief of staff. In earlier incarnation, he supported the Iraq invasion; was chairman of Labour Friends of Israel; said that Winter Fuel Allowance and free bus passes should not be sacred; supported PFI, lie-detector tests for benefit claimants. What next?
