(not so) Fun Fact: I still misgender myself quite often – that’s how deeply ingrained language binarism is. This also teaches me to be more forgiving when faced with an honest mistake. That said, I can almost always tell when it’s a matter of laziness (=privilege). So please, stay aware and mindful.

We lost Martin McLaughlin, Emeritus Agnelli-Serena Professor of Italian Studies at University of Oxford, and with him gone, the world is lacking some genuine generosity, among many other qualities as he had and always shared as a person, a tutor, a scholar. You will be missed.

Hi Constantine, "The event will be introduced by Professor Gary Francione." Gary uses his online platform to spread transphobic terms like "trans ideology" and "TRA", puts trans guy in inverted commas, and is generally an anti-trans activist, so why he is introducing your pro-trans talk here?

The first known use of singular “they” is so old that not only does it pre-date singular “you,” it wasn’t even spelled with a “th” When William and the Werewolf, in 1375 CE, used singular “they,” it was spelled with a Thorn

The excerpt from William and the Werewolf showing singular they spelled with a Thorn
