Abdul El-Sayed was outspent 9-to-1 by AIPAC and corporate Super PACs in the most expensive Senate Democratic primary of all time. Last night, he proved that organized people can beat organized money.

The medication I needed fr my severe, progressive, condition was received last night. I can't tell you how much threatening to escalate to the State or the DOL (depending on if the insurance is self-funded (DOL) or not (State)) works. They expect you to give up. Fight.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

I have spent the last week beating the shit out of my health insurance company, including filing a grievance with damning evidence of harmful policies. They complied with my modest demands. You CAN challenge health insurance. You need to fight with evidence and tenacity. 1/3

Supergirl was a fine movie. I mean, Gunn seemingly has a fetish about specifically using slave girls as a signature characteristic of the toxic villains (passively via Joe-El in Superman, actively in Supergirl) but overall, it was a fun jaunt. My only gripes: green stars don't exist and...

If AI companies are destroying old, rare books, that means they plundered Project Gutenberg completely. Part of the problem is no one collects old books anymore, so booksellers are willing to sell to anyone, no questions asked. Books are expensive, old books even more so.

I am torn. On one hand, this is a good time to just sunset Rift. I don't subscribe. I haven't touched the game in 2 years, if not more (I really think it's 5 or 6). On the other, my launch character is there. But really, this kind of thing gives players permission to quit your game.

I want to use this to recontextualize the Alliance. The Alliance is not the Horde. The Alliance is just that -an alliance of species-drive city-states. Why is it human themed? For the same reason Agamemnon leads the Greek forces against Troy. The humans are the largest faction, with the most ppl

Agamemnon was chosen to lead the Greeks for reasons that had almost nothing to do with being the wisest or the most beloved. He was simply the most powerful.
As king of Mycenae he controlled the largest army and the biggest fleet of any of the Greek rulers. When the call went out to retrieve Helen, the other kings brought their own forces, but none of them could match the scale of what Agamemnon could put on the water. In a coalition of proud, competitive leaders, the man with the most ships and the most men becomes the default commander whether anyone fully trusts him or not.
There was also the family connection. Helen was his brother's wife. Menelaus had the personal grievance, but Agamemnon had the resources and the status to turn that grievance into a full-scale war. The Atreid name carried weight. Their line was already tied to power, wealth, and a certain ruthless practicality. The other kings could argue and scheme all they wanted, but when it came time to actually move an army across the sea, they needed someone who could feed it, house it, and keep it together for ten years.
He was not chosen because he was the best man. He was chosen because he was the only one in a position to make the entire expedition possible. That is how power usually works in these stories.

Me, looking at the Ryan Gosling casting for Ghost Rider: He looks just like that guy in Hail Mary? All these white actors look the SAME! Who is the guy in Hail Mary? Hubby: Umm...Ryan Gosling? Me: *blinks* Face blindness is real.

FINALLY. The cable you are looking for is micro b to usb c adapter if you want to swap cables and start getting rid of those old USB A ports when connecting your portable hard drives.

I won't say which company but I am not dying from endometrial cancer (or a stroke) because of the healthcare provided for me by a company. While we are fortunate that working is not onerous, it does limit our options. Plus, terrified about losing that healthcare access Purposefully being ambiguous.

the reason we dont have medicare for all is bc corporations need employer based healthcare to keep you chained to your desk in a job you hate that doesnt pay you what youre worth

Ironically, France's government did a study several years ago that found there was no safe or technically feasible way to mandate online age verification without massively expanding surveillance and eviscerating online privacy. They decided to do it anyway.

France just became the first nation in Europe to ban teens from social media and, you guessed it, they’re forcing everyone to upload their ID’s for social media access in order to enforce it. www.bbc.com/news/article...
