Here's an unpopular opinion: I think the social media ban for under 16s is good. It's not perfect, better if algo feed companies treated as publishers, but the ban will do good. Yes lots of kids will get round it but based on Aus, less than half of kids will be on soc media. At a basic level...(1/2)

This is good. Amongst folk I know evidence of capital subbing for labour, raising productivity but with uncertain consequences for those on the out. One example: friend runs bunch of factories for a FTSE 50, Lab's increased labour costs meant they put in machines they'd been vacilating about (1/X)

When the father of a murdered son makes a public statement saying "we do not want his death to be used to create further division, hatred or tension", then I believe it's incumbent on any news outlet reporting on Farage's comments to ensure people know he has chosen to disregard the family's wishes.

I don't know John, maybe you could have mentioned it to them during the decade you've been relentlessly "listening" to their "concerns"?

Apart from the fact that the Republican party is a raging binfire, God is neither male nor female. References to God as "King" or "Father" are in line with a system in which men were (largely) dominant. God is beyond human understanding. And so yes, if God exists, God is most likely nonbinary.

Newcastle Green Party candidate Tina Ion says "Israel must be eradicated. Even if it means killing every single Zionist.". Is Ion one of the "99%" of candidates whom party leader Zack Polanski stands behind?

Season 6 episode 9 of Star Trek Voyager, when 7 of 9 downloads too much information and starts coming up with wild conspiracy theories, was oddly prescient of the impact of internet / social media has had on people if slightly underplayed the madness.

Contrary to what Polanski claims, Starmer didn't mention Israel at all (perhaps why he doesn't link to the actual piece, which you can read here - www.jewishnews.co.uk/starmer-slam...) Literally the only person conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism here is Polanski himself.

You can agree with the first statement or not, but Polanski and his media writers know exactly what they're doing with the "if not now, when?" formulation and if they don't then they're not fit to be in position.

100%. If he was even vaguely sincere, there would have been a lot of engagement with the Jewish community (a) in the US not the UK only after the big payday is threatened, (b) without any self-serving publicity and (c) over the course of several months

I think this comment piece sums up the Kanye West - UK Jewish community meeting offer well. Last week West performed in LA. Local Jewish groups were vocal in their opposition. He didn't offer to meet them - most likely because he knew he didn't have to. www.jewishnews.co.uk/kanye-west-s...
